[TA] posterior branches of thoracic nerves: branches of the twelve thoracic spinal nerves; they subdivide into lateral and medial and posterior cutaneous branches; see r. lateralis rami posterioris nervi thoracici, r. medialis rami posterioris nervi thoracici, and r. cutaneus posterior rami posterioris nervi thoracici. Called also rami dorsales nervorum thoracicorum [TA alternative].
