isocitrate dehydrogenase (NAD+)

isocitrate dehydrogenase (NAD+)
iso·ci·trate de·hy·dro·gen·ase (NAD+) (i″so-sĭґtrāt de-hiґdrə-jən-ās) [EC 1.1.1.41] a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to form α-ketoglutarate, using NAD+ as an electron acceptor; the reaction is the key rate-limiting step of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. The enzyme requires Mg2+ or Mn2+ and is activated by ADP, citrate, and Ca2+ and inhibited by NADH, NADPH, and ATP.
