- tractus spinalis nervi trigemini [TA] spinal tract of trigeminal nerve: a descending tract of the trigeminal nerve extending from the level of entrance of the sensory root of the trigeminal nerves into the pons to the upper cervical segments of the spinal cord. It lies lateral to the nucleus of the spinal tract of the trigeminal nerve, in which its fibers synapse, and carries mainly pain and temperature impulses from the face.
