- [TA] anterior spinocerebellar tract: a group of nerve fibers in the lateral funiculus of the spinal cord, arising mostly in the opposite gray matter and ascending to the cerebellum by way of the anterior part of the lateral funiculus and then the superior cerebellar peduncle; they carry sensory impulses activated by nerve endings in skin, muscles, tendons, and joints. Called also Gowers column, fasciculus, or tract, ventral spinocerebellar tract, and t. spinocerebellaris ventralis.
