- large cell immunoblastic lymphoma
- a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma characterized by large lymphoblasts (immunoblasts) that resemble macrophages rather than follicular center cells, and have a diffuse pattern of infiltration; it has a high degree of malignancy and often grows rapidly. The cell population may be exclusively B or T lymphoblasts or a mixture; tumors of predominantly B cells are often associated with a preexisting immunologic disorder such as Sjцgren syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, or Hashimoto thyroiditis, or with an immunocompromised state.
