nonhemolytic jaundice
jaundice caused by an abnormality in metabolism of bilirubin by the liver cells, so that there is excessive unconjugated bilirubin in the blood. The various forms include Crigler-Najjar, Dubin-Johnson, Gilbert, and Rotor syndromes, as well as physiologic jaundice.
