benign fibrous histiocytoma

benign fibrous histiocytoma
any of a group of benign skin tumors found in the dermis and containing macrophages and fibroblasts. This term is variable; some authorities broadly include neoplasms such as dermatofibroma, nodular subepidermal fibrosis, and sclerosing hemangioma, but others limit it to cover only one of the conditions.
