congenital epulis

congenital epulis
a benign, nonencapsulated soft, pedunculated tumor of the mucosa of the jaws, usually the maxilla, of newborn infants. It is often found in the incisor region, arising on the crest of the alveolar ridge or process. Microscopically, it resembles a granular cell tumor. Called also e. of newborn.
