1. a small, asymptomatic, osteolytic, fibrous lesion occurring within the bone cortex, particularly in the metaphyseal region of long bones in childhood. When large and actively growing, it is generally termed 2. nonossifying fibroma. Called also metaphyseal fibrous d.
