aminoisobutyric acid
ami·no·iso·bu·tyr·ic ac·id (ə-me″no-i″so-bu-tirґik) an amino acid not occurring in proteins; the R-β- isomer is produced in the degradation of thymine and excreted in excess in β-aminoisobutyricaciduria; the S-β- isomer is a metabolite of valine; and the α- form, which does not occur naturally, is used in studies of transport and cytokinin effects.
