Vel·peau bandage or Vel·peau's bandage vel-'pō(z)- n a bandage used to support and immobilize the arm when the clavicle is fractured
Vel·peau vel-pō Alfred-Armand-Louis-Marie (1795-1867)
French surgeon. Velpeau was the leading French surgeon in the first half of the 19th century. In 1839 he introduced a bandage designed to support the arm in dislocation or fracture of the clavicle.
