X-Pro dipeptidase

X-Pro dipeptidase
X-Pro di·pep·ti·dase (di-pepґtĭ-dās″) [EC 3.4.13.9] a dipeptidase that catalyzes the cleavage of a C-terminal proline or another imino acid from imidodipeptides, an important step in intestinal absorption of the imino acid portion of dipeptides. Reduced enzyme activity, an autosomal recessive trait, causes prolidase deficiency. Called also prolidase and proline dipeptidase.
