1. [TA] valve of foramen ovale: in the adult, a crescentic ridge on the left side of the interatrial septum, representing the edge of what was the septum primum before fusion of the septum; called also falx septi. 2. a fold in the left atrium of the fetal heart, derived from the embryonic septum primum.
