the insertion into a prepared dental alveolus of an autogenous or homologous tooth; it may be a developing tooth germ from the same mouth, a homologous transplant, or a tooth with or without vital pulp, or one having had endodontic treatment, transplanted from one site to another in the same individual or from one individual to another.
