fetal growth retardation
intrauterine growth retardation birth weight below the tenth percentile for gestational age for infants in a given population; classified as symmetric or proportionate (both weight and length below normal) and asymmetric or disproportionate (weight below normal, length normal). Called also fetal or intrauterine growth restriction.
