an inflammatory condition of cattle due to infection of the kidneys and urinary tract with Corynebacterium renale; characteristics include painful, swollen kidneys and thickened, inflamed walls throughout the urinary tract, with hematuria and pyuria. Other domestic animals occasionally suffer from a similar condition.
