chronic pigmented purpura
any of a group of benign dermatoses of unknown etiology, not associated with underlying systemic disease, consisting of minimal inflammation with cayenne pepper spots on the skin; included are lichen aureus, pigmented purpuric lichenoid dermatitis, purpura annularis telangiectodes, and Schamberg disease. Called also pigmented purpuric dermatitis or dermatosis and p. pigmentosa chronica.
