Pro·to·coc·ci·di·i·da (pro″to-kok″sĭ-diґĭ-də) [proto- + Gr. kokkos berry] an order of parasitic protozoa (subclass Coccidia, class Sporozoea) found in invertebrates, the life cycle of which involves gametogony and sporogony.
