proteasome

proteasome
pro·te·a·some (proґte-ə-sōm) [protease + -some] a large, cylindrical protease complex occurring in both the nucleoplasm and cytoplasm, consisting of a 20S core that in eukaryotes and Archaea is capped by a regulatory complex at one or both ends; it degrades intracellular proteins that have been marked by the attachment of ubiquitin.
