plana frontalia

[TA] frontal planes: planes passing longitudinally through the body from side to side, at right angles to the median plane, and dividing the body into front and back parts. So called because such planes roughly parallel the frontal suture of the skull. Called also plana coronalia or coronal planes because one of these planes passes through the coronal suture.
