Neorickettsia helminthoeca
the etiologic agent of salmon poisoning in dogs and other canids; it lives inside the salmon fluke, Nanophyetus salmincola, and if this parasitizes a fish, animals that eat the fish will become infected. Horizontal transmission can also occur.
