methylprednisolone acetate
[USP] the 21-acetate ester of methylprednisolone, administered topically as an antiinflammatory, by intramuscular injection in replacement therapy for adrenocortical insufficiency, and by intra-articular, intramuscular, intralesional, or soft-tissue injection as an antiinflammatory and immunosuppressant in a wide variety of disorders.
