Rideal-Walker method

Rideal-Walker method
a method for calculating the phenol coefficient of a disinfectant; cultures of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhi are incubated with serial dilutions of the test compound, with dilutions of phenol as standards. Samples are removed at intervals, transferred to sterile broth, and the resulting cultures incubated and examined for bacterial growth.
