- [TA] medial ligament of talocrural joint: a large fan-shaped ligament on the medial side of the ankle, passing from the medial malleolus of the tibia down onto the tarsal bones. It comprises four parts: pars tibionavicularis, pars tibiocalcanea, pars tibiotalaris anterior, and pars tibiotalaris posterior. Called also l. deltoideum articulationis talocruralis [TA alternative], l. mediale articulationis talocruralis, deltoid ligament of ankle, and medial ligament of ankle.
