eosinophilic pustular folliculitis

eosinophilic pustular folliculitis
a rare dermatosis characterized by pruritic sterile pustules on the face, trunk, and limbs, coalescing to form plaques that tend toward central clearing with hyperpigmentation and have spontaneous exacerbation and remission. There is spongiosis of the follicular epithelium and leukocytic infiltration of the hair follicle root sheath and nearby dermis, which results in destruction of the follicle and sometimes formation of abscesses. Called also Ofuji disease.
