osteoclast-activating factor
(OAF) a lymphokine that stimulates bone resorption; it is a small protein unrelated to parathyroid hormone and may be involved in the bone resorption associated with multiple myeloma and other hematologic neoplasms or inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and periodontal disease.
