- (NCF) 1. a poorly characterized chemotactic factor, mol. wt. approximately 750,000, that attracts neutrophils but not eosinophils or monocytes and is released by basophils or mast cells in immediate hypersensitivity reactions. Called also high-molecular-weight neutrophil chemotactic f. (HMW-NCF). 2. a lymphokine produced by activated lymphocytes that is chemotactic for neutrophils.
