cerebellar cortical degeneration
degeneration of the cerebellar cortex, especially around the vermis, with instability of muscles of the trunk and lower limbs; this is thought to be linked to thiamine deficiency and is seen in alcoholics and sometimes other malnourished individuals. Called also cortical cerebellar d.
