cysteine-type carboxypeptidase
cys·te·ine-type car·boxy·pep·ti·dase (sisґte-ēn-tīp″ kahr-bok″se-pepґtĭ-dās) 1. [EC 3.4.18] any exopeptidase that contains a cysteine residue at the active site and catalyzes the thiol-dependent hydrolytic cleavage of the terminal or penultimate peptide bond at the C-terminal end of a peptide or polypeptide. 2. [EC 3.4.18.1] a lysosomal carboxypeptidase with broad specificity but not acting on C-terminal proline residues. Called also lysosomal carboxypeptidase B and cathepsin B2>.
