ala minor ossis sphenoidalis
[TA] lesser wing of sphenoid bone: the thin triangular plate of bone that extends horizontally and laterally from either side of the anterior part of the body of the sphenoid bone; it articulates with the frontal bone and helps form the roof of the orbit and the floor of the anterior cranial fossa. Called also minor or small wing of sphenoid bone.
