acne fulminans
a rare form of severe cystic acne occurring primarily in teenage boys, characterized by highly inflammatory nodules and plaques that undergo suppurative degeneration, leaving ulcerations; this is accompanied by fever, weight loss, anemia, leukocytosis, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and polyarthritis.
