acetate–CoA ligase
ac·e·tate–CoA li·gase (asґĕ-tāt ko-aґ liґgās) [EC 6.2.1.1] an enzyme of the ligase class that catalyzes the formation of acetyl coenzyme A from acetate and coenzyme A, as well as analogous reactions linking propionic or acrylic acid to coenzyme A. The enzyme occurs in the mitochondrial membrane and cytosol. Called also acetyl CoA synthetase.
