independent contract

independent contract
(in Britain) a special arrangement whereby hospital or general practitioner working in the National Health Service receive budgeted funds to provide services of their own selection, without direction from Health Authorities. However, basic services must be provided for the population of the Health Authority in which the service is located at an agreed rate.
