zoo·spore (zoґo-spor) [zoo- + spore] a motile spore, such as an asexual flagellate of certain algae and lower fungi, or a minute sexual or asexual flagellate or ameboid spore produced by certain protozoa; it forms within a case called a zoosporangium. Called also flagellospore.
