Hes·sel·bach 'hes-əl-.bäk Franz Kaspar (1759-1816)
German surgeon and anatomist. Hesselbach served as professor of anatomy and surgery at Würzburg, Germany. In 1806 he published an anatomical-surgical treatise on the origin of hernias which included a description of the triangle of Hesselbach.
