(LCM) a form of meningitis caused by the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, usually occurring in adults 20 to 40 years of age during the late winter months. Infection results from contact with infected rodents and is usually asymptomatic or mild, although severe meningoencephalitis may occur.
