Fan·co·ni's anemia fän-'kō-nēz-, fan- n aplastic anemia that is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and is characterized by progressive pancytopenia, hypoplastic bone marrow, skeletal anomalies (as short stature), microcephaly, hypogonadism, and a predisposition to leukemia
Fanconi Guido (1892-1979)
Swiss pediatrician. Fanconi first described the congenital disease now known as Fanconi's anemia in 1927. He first reported on the renal dysfunction now known as Fanconi syndrome in 1931.
