a highly infectious disease characterized by scant ocular exudate, round subepithelial corneal opacities associated with the keratitis, and often swelling of regional lymph nodes; there may also be systemic symptoms, especially headache. Adenovirus type 8 has often been isolated from patients with the disease. Called also shipyard k., viral k., and Sanders disease.
