scrof·u·lo·der·ma (skrof″u-lo-durґmə) [scrofula + derma] a type of cutaneous tuberculosis affecting children and young adults, representing either direct extension of tuberculosis into the skin from underlying structures such as cervical lymph nodes, bone, or a lung, or contact exposure to tuberculosis. It is manifested by painless subcutaneous swellings that evolve into cold abscesses, ulcers, and draining sinus tracts. Called also tuberculosis colliquativa.Scrofuloderma; the lesion is an extension from an underlying lymph node.
