sar·gram·os·tim (sahr-gramґo-stim) [USP] granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor developed by recombinant technology that acts to stimulate hematopoiesis and decrease neutropenia, used as an adjuvant to myelosuppressive cancer chemotherapy, to promote myeloid engraftment in bone marrow transplantation or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and to enhance peripheral progenitor cell yield in autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; administered intravenously or subcutaneously.
