pty·oc·ri·nous (ti-okґrĭ-nəs) [Gr. ptyon a winnowing shovel, or fan + krinein to separate] elaborating secretion in the form of granules that are eventually extruded; said of unicellular glands such as goblet cells that secrete in this way. Cf. diacrinous.
