phreni·cla·sia (fren″ĭ-klaґzhə) [phrenic nerve + Gr. klasis crushing] crushing of the phrenic nerve with a clamp, formerly done to cause paralysis of the diaphragm. Called also phrenemphraxis and phrenicotripsy.
