phos·pha·ti·dyl·ser·ine (fos″fə-ti″dəl-serґēn) a phospholipid in which serine is attached to the phosphate group of phosphatidic acid by an ester linkage; it is an important constituent of cell membranes and is localized preferentially in the inner surface of the plasma membrane. Abbreviated PS.
