Oxy·uris (ok″se-uґris) [Gr. oxys sharp + oura tail] a genus of intestinal nematodes of the family Oxyuridae. O. eґqui, the largest known pinworm, is found in the cecum, colon, and rectum of the horse. O. vermiculaґris has been renamed Enterobius vermicularis.
