(NADP) a coenzyme composed of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) coupled by pyrophosphate linkage to the 5′-phosphate of adenosine 2′,5′-bisphosphate. It serves as an electron carrier in numerous reactions, being alternately oxidized (NADP⁺) and reduced (NADPH). Formerly called also triphosphopyridine nucleotide (TPN).
