mech·lor·eth·amine hy·dro·chlo·ride (mek″lor-ethґə-mēn) [USP] a cytotoxic alkylating agent of the nitrogen mustard group, used in the treatment of disseminated Hodgkin disease, some non-Hodgkin lymphomas, and mycosis fungoides; administered intravenously. It is also administered intraperitoneally, intrapericardially, and intrapleurally for the palliative treatment of malignant effusions. Called also HN2 and nitrogen mustard.
