A benign subcutaneous tumor composed of embryonal fat cells separated into distinct lobules, occurring usually in infants.

lipo·blas·to·ma (lip″o-blas-toґmə) [lipo- + blastoma] a benign fatty tumor composed of a mixture of embryonal lipoblastic cells in a myxoid stroma and mature fat cells; the tumor cells are arranged in lobules and occur most often in children.
