Linognathus

Linognathus
A genus of sucking lice (order Anoplura, family Linognathidae) that includes the species L. africanus, the African blue louse of sheep and goats; L. ovillus, the sheep body louse; L. pedalis, the foot louse of sheep; L. setosus, the sucking louse of the dog and other canids; L. stenopsis, the sucking louse of goats; and L. vituli, the “long-nosed” sucking louse, ox louse, or blue louse of cattle. Lin·og·na·thus (lin-ogґnə-thəs) a genus of sucking lice (order Anoplura). L. pedaґlis, the foot louse, and L. ovilґlus infest sheep; L. setoґsus infests dogs and foxes; L. stenopґsis, the goat sucking louse, infests goats; L. africaґnus infests either sheep or goats; and L. vituґli, the long-nosed cattle louse, infests cattle.
