hy·per·val·i·ne·mia (hi″pər-val″ĭ-neґme-ə) 1. an autosomal recessive aminoacidopathy, due to a defect in valine transaminase, characterized by elevated levels of valine in the plasma and urine with failure to thrive. 2. elevated levels of valine in the plasma. Called also valinemia.
