hexa·chlo·ro·phene (hek″sə-klorґo-fēn) [USP] an antibacterial effective against gram-positive organisms; used as a topical anti-infective and detergent, mainly in soaps and dermatological preparations, and in veterinary medicine to combat flukes in poultry and ruminants.
